LORD
Satan seems to have Hillsong, Colour and Watoto on his radar. Praise you LORD, we must be moving mountains for him to attack just at the end of our 40 days of prayer. I am use to hearing bad press about Hillsong, but this targeted women, and compassion and watoto. Thank you LORD that you hear our prayers and your will is being done to save your children.
All the glory belongs to you LORD. Any good that happens from this is because of you. Because you blessed us with your words and filled us with faith to pray. We were moved to pray because of you LORD. And because we asked you were able to act through us and for us. All the glory is yours LORD. Your plans are greater than ours, your thoughts greater than ours. We only know in part what one day we will know in full.
We have no idea of the spiritual battle that has taken place because of our prayers. We have no idea of the principalities you have overthrown and protected us from. But we know all we need to know. To trust and believe in you. Believe in your saving power. Your love and grace which covers us all.
We only have a few days left LORD before the opening of the church in Gulu. LORD, keep charging forward through your people. Keep your leaders motivated and full of your Spirit so they will run this race to the very end. Because the opening is only the beginning of their work to rescue as many as possible. To build a future that will lead them into eternity.
I pray that you would make your plans crystal clear to them. Show them what needs to be done to make this successful LORD. To make this last until eternity. So they can take back what belongs to you. Return the plans you have for these children, for Uganda, to build strong christian leadership into this country.
LORD, keep their enemies away from them, and help them to find favour with all the authorities they have to deal with. Protect their grounds LORD, so it will a refuge in a storm, a safe haven for any that walk through their doors needing help.
Help them to find your children, to provide for them, and to rescue them from the darkness.
Thank you LORD for all you are doing in Gulu. For the lives you are changing, the hearts you are healing, and the minds you are renewing. Thank you LORD that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. And we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. And nothing is impossible with you.
Thank you LORD that you provide us with all we need. That you never leave us nor forsake us. But that you will always come to our rescue. That your love is unfailing. Thank you for sending your Spirit to prepare the way. To overcome strongholds, and stand in the gap for us. To intecede on our behalf and to do your will.
Thank you LORD that you are more than enough for us. We don't have the weapons of this world but we have your word which is sharper than any two edge sword. That by our faith we are able to extinguish the arrows of Satan. Thank your LORD, that no one can snatch us from your hand.

LORD,
this is psalm that i love and I ask that you hear this as a prayer from one of your children in Gulu. Your body is united as one, that was your prayer for us, Lord Jesus, before you were arrested.
LORD, I am united as one with these children in prayer. See me as one of them, searching for you with all my heart.
You have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.
You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,"
even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

prayer - day 34
LORD
thanks for today. It was great to hear such an awesome praise report today at church. Being relevant to someone's every day life...it seems to be a theme at the moment. Love it.
You made this day LORD. It belongs to you. You wrote what would happen in our lives today - for all your children. I wonder what you wrote in the lives of the children at Gulu today? I trust that they are a step closer to you. That the way is being prepared for them to escape their captivity.
I pray that the church leaders of KPC and all your workers are standing strong on you. Help them to maintain their spiritual zeal, keep them strong in body and spirit LORD, so they will never give up but keep on pursuing your will in Gulu. LORD, fill them with your word and help them to keep their eyes on you. Not to look to the left or to the right, let your word be a lamp on to their feet and light on to their path.
Help them LORD to make wise choices and to use their words to bring light into this situation. Let even their enemies live at peace with them so there will be no barriers to your cause. So they can build the refuge for your children, and give them a safe place to live, to be children again.
Thank you LORD that we need not fret about what the enemy is doing. Because your plans are greater and you will find a way to help your children. You love is unfailing LORD and you never give up on even 1 lost sheep, but you will leave the 99 to search everywhere for him.
You said your sheep know your voice. I pray let your children hear your voice. Remove any obstacles from their way, so they can return to your pen and know your unfailing love, LORD.

prayer - day 33
LORD
Thank you for helping the children of Gulu. Thank you for sending your Spirit to do your will. I pray Isaiah 32 and Psalm 37 over this land, for the KPC church leadership team in Gulu and the children of Gulu. All your people doing your work in Gulu.
Let your people be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land.
I pray that the eyes of the local authorities, rebel leaders and government officials will no longer be closed and their ears will listen. That their minds will know and understand.
I pray that the tongues of your leaders will be fluent and clear, till your Spirit is poured upon them from on high and the desert of Gulu becomes a fertile field so it seems like forest.
Justice will dwell in the desert and righteousness live in the fertile field.
The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. Your people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. I pray this for the children. Though hail flattens the forest and the city is leveled completely, how blessed they will be.
Your people will not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
Your people will trust in you and do good, dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Your people delight in you LORD and you will give them the desires of their hearts. Help them to commit their way to you; trust in you and you will do this:
Let their righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of their cause like the noonday sun.
They will be still before you and wait patiently for you; they will not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
For evil men will be cut off, but your children who hope in you will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.
But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.
The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them; but you laugh at the wicked, for you know their day is coming.
The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright. But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.
Better the little that your people have than the wealth of many wicked; for the power of the wicked will be broken, but you uphold the righteous. The days of the blameless are known to you, and their inheritance will endure forever.
In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty. But the wicked will perish: your enemies will be like the beauty of the fields, they will vanish—vanish like smoke.
The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously; those you bless will inherit the land, but those you curse will be cut off.
If you delight in a man's way, you makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for you uphold him with your hand. I pray this is true for your children in Gulu.

prayer - day 32
LORD
please bless the children of Gulu today. Each one of them LORD, in whatever situation they are in - child soldier, homeless, captive, young mother, abused, lost, alone, brain-washed...whatever their life is at this moment, please bless them. Please help them find you. To know you now, remove whatever barriers there are, in Jesus name. So they can know the truth and know that you are their Heavenly Father who loves them.
That you see them right where they are and you are relevant in their every day lives. That you hear their cries and see their pain. For them, you sent your son to the cross, so that they may have life in abundance to the full. So they will be set free, and their broken-hearts healed.
LORD, I believe in you. I believe that you will send your Spirit to help each one of these children. I believe that you will come for them and rescue them like you rescued me. I believe that all things are possible in your name. I believe that we can do all things through you son who strengthens us.
I can't help these children but I can pray for them. I can cover them in my prayers and hide them in you LORD. Please forgive them their sins LORD and save them. Help them to find Watoto, help them to escape their situations, and provide ways for them to be saved.

prayer - day 31
LORD
thanks for being a part of my every day life. Love learning from you and knowing that you love me.
the count down is on LORD. I pray that the situation in Gulu has changed. That children have been rescued and young mothers have found refuge in you. That through Watoto and the geniune effort of others they will know a life full of promise and be protected from evil. Jeremiah 29 will be true for all these children LORD, that your plans are to prosper them and not to harm them, to give them a hope and a future.
That no weapon formed against them will prosper but all will know that you are LORD and you have come to rescue your children. LORD I pray your angels are guarding your children and that they cast a shadow over those that would harm them. That they will know what it means to fear the LORD.
I pray that government officials and rebel leaders are working in unity to bring this to an end, so that there will be no more children soldiers. No more young girls being abused and traded as slaves. Please LORD if there are any stubborn hearts left show them your way. Change them LORD i pray in Jesus name. Help them to see your truth. To know that your way is the only way. Please remove their blindness LORD so they will do all they can to pursue peace and bring this chapter in their history to a close.
Fill them with hope for a brighter future LORD. Heal their land and forgive them for their sins LORD. Give anyone that can help these children the courage to do so.
LORD, please fill these children with your Spirit. So they will turn to you and know that your are their Heavenly Father who loves them and wants to rescue them. Please restore their innocence LORD and heal their broken hearts. Forgive them their sins and help them to forgive themselves.
As for those villagers who would reject them. Please fill them with compassion LORD. Help them to see these children as you see them. Help them to forgive them for all the pain they have caused. Show them that these children didn't know what they were doing, but were influenced by adults stronger and more wilful then them. Children learn from their adults LORD. Help them to see that and give them a heart for these children so that they will teach them new ways.
These children need so much love LORD and only you can provide them with this so they will heal completely. Thank you LORD that you are working right now in their lives. Joel said something else which shows just how positive his view of the world is. He talked about his Father and instead of saying 'since my Father died', he said 'since my Father went to be with the LORD' and I love that.
My Dad went to be with the LORD. I'm never going to say my Dad died. I'm going to say 'my Dad went to be with the LORD' or my child died 'my child went to be with the LORD'. It will help me mourn less and be more positive about their loss.

Just watched joyce and she happened to be interviewing Joel and Victoria Osteen. Joel and Joyce are my top two teachers. So guess what today's teaching was about? Enjoying your life right where you are now.
They have such a positive view of the world that it always fills me hope. Joyce was advertising her series on grace. And to me that's what all my thoughts are about. One of Joyce's favourite sayings: I may not be where I should be but thank God I'm not where i use to be.
God's grace covers me in moments like this. It always has, no matter how little the progress I've made. I know his grace covers me until I can do what i can't do. But for now I will do what I can do.
His grace I couldn't earn it. I will always fall short, but his grace covers me. How do i have this grace? Though my Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, My Saviour. God's favour even when I'm unfavourable. Love it.
I can remember being younger and very disillusioned with church, talking with the LORD in my drunken state. Some christians would faint at this. But it was who I was. And the LORD always meets us right where we are. For me it wasn't disrespectful. I always honour my LORD and I'm always honest with him. It's what he deserves. I'm not fooling him by pretending he doesn't exist when I'm sitting on the side of the road off my face. He's right there with me. And I love him for it. When I was young I had only him by my side and his word. I wasn't connected to a church at all.
So my every day struggles matter to him. Joyce and Joel talked about this. Enjoy right where you - you may not have achieved all that you wanted to achieve yet, but there are still things right now you can enjoy. I can still play with my son, meet with family and have a laugh. I can make things and learn new recipes and enjoy this beautiful home I have.

so in this little world that is my head i am struggling with what paul describes in romans the thing i want to do i don't do and i end up doing the very thing i don't want to do.
I am talking about my health and fitness or in every day lingo - the spare tyre that seems to have expanded to cover my whole body so that I am just one great big blob!
I was watching a video of me and baby yesterday and it was a baby moment. But as I was holding baby while having his first curls cut, all i could see was this double chin and very dowdy housewife (not at all a yummy mummy, which just happens to be on tv at the mo).
But I know this isn't good. I'm unhealthy and the last time I did consistent exercise was when I played volleyball waaaay baack when?? And what's worse i like exercise. I'm the aunty who plays with the kids, kicks the ball, runs around playing chase and soccer. I love sports, ball sports mostly. Yet I'm unable to do something about this! Why? Cos it's just not a part of my every day life anymore. That has to change.
So i think i wrote in a previous post that the LORD has intervened in my every day life knowing how hopeless I am and has made the way smooth for me to do SOMETHING to get started.

if someone was to ask me why do I believe in the LORD? It would have to have something about being relevant to my every day life.
I don't keep the LORD in this religious box or in that area behind the curtain in the temple - holiest of holy's. When Jesus ripped that curtain away with the sacrifice of his life. To me that meant there was nothing separating us from the LORD. We no longer had other people to represent us, he accepted us and knew we would never meet his standards, so he met with us.
He sacrificed his son, knowing we were sinners, knowing that even on our best day it would be nothing compared to him. We would always fall way short of his glory.
Ye he loves us still, made us to be unique in every way, and he enjoys our messes and our successes. In fact our messes are more interesting and fun because that's where all the hard work happens, that's where we learn the most, and that's where we realise our humanity and understand that little bit more just how awesome he is.
I am who I am, and because of the Lord's grace, I know he doesn't expect me to be PERFECT all the time. But I think he expects me to be truthful with him, to include him in everything, and IN ALL MY WAYS acknowledge him.
And I know something about myself - I need to change. I love change. It means I have never reached the end until I cross that line. It's all about the journey - tacky i know, but true. In the journey I change, I get better, I get worse, I am stupid and have to repeat some lessons and there a life lessons that I am no step closer to getting then the first time the LORD brought it to my attention. Sad but true. That's every day life. That's why the LORD is so relevant to my everyday life - that's where I need him the most.
Not when I have my best face on and I am sitting in church on Sunday for a couple of hours. If that's all christianity was, then I would have been lost a long time ago. Church works when it's like the LORD. Relevant every day of our messed up and successful lives.

lots of thoughts running through my head. why is that? my inlaws have gone but it just occurred to me this minute what my sister-in-law meant when she said that I need to be more normal. my man's family is different from my own family - mine is a lot more work. But I'm normal. Whereas with myles' family it's all about entertaining them, and it's all about them and normal life gets put aside.
Maybe we need to change that. Like now I have so much washing to do, but i kept thinking conserve energy and do what needs to be done - entertain. How funny.
My inlaws are awesome - we did make one change: myles' mum did the dishes heaps. Normally i wouldn't let her do it. I think the best holiday we had with them was just after i had baby - we were more normal then. This holiday was just a week so that probably was a factor.
I love them and want to make them a big part of baby's life. All myles' family. So next time will work on letting them be a part of our every day life.

prayer - day 30
LORD
getting closer to the opening of Watoto in Gulu. I pray for all those in charge. Please keep them passionate and wise during the next few days. Fill them with your Spirit LORD so they can do your will and fulfil the good works you planned in advance for them. The works that only they can do right now, for such a time as this in Gulu, Uganda.
Thank you LORD for bringing your body together to complete this good work and to build a future for these children. Let them be such a blessing in this land that even their enemies will be at peace with them. Let their ways be pleasing to you LORD. Cover them with your grace LORD so that even in weakness they are strong.
I pray that you will bless them when they come in and bless them when they go out. Grant that the enemies who rise up against them will be defeated before them. That even if they come at them from one direction you will make them flee in seven.
Send a blessing to their barns LORD and on everything they put their hand to. Bless them in the land you are giving them. Establish them as your holy people - the leadership team of Gulu, Watoto, and all the children and workers that come under their care. Help them to keep your commands and walk in your ways LORD. Then all the peoples on earth will see that they are called by the name of the LORD, and fear them. A righteous fear LORD knowing that they better not mess with your people and the work you are leading them to do in Gulu.
All the people of Uganda, will have no doubt that they are blessed by the LORD God Almighty and not hinder them but help them. They will know that you are LORD and have complete control of this situation. They will know that you have come for your people and you will not be stopped by mere men but will move mountains to save your children.
Let Gulu be their inheritance LORD, and give these children rest from the enemies around them so they will live in safety. And know that your are their Healer and Provider, their Heavenly Father who loves them with an unfailing love.
Thank you LORD for your protection and blessing over this whole situation. I love you LORD and I pray all this in Jesus name amene.

prayer - day 29
LORD
very very tired today. Possibly because we shopped till we dropped. And I have had a busy week.
Thank you for all you're doing in Gulu LORD. Thank you for motivating your girls. Thank you for placing Watoto in the right place to help all these children. I pray that they are moving closer to creating that safe environment for these children to live without fear and persecution.
Please be with the leadership team - help them to make wise choices and fill them with your Spirit LORD so they will not give up but overcome all obstacles. Help them to be united in cause and to work together to do your will.
Thank you LORD for taking control of Gulu. All things are possible in you LORD. I pray in Jesus name amene.

prayer - day 28
LORD
just a quick mention of caleb. plse help him to get a good night sleep, his teeth are giving him a lot of trouble. Thank you LORD.
this 40 days of prayer LORD is teaching me about praying consistently for one goal. At some point I have to trust that you have heard all our prayers and repeating them over and over is not for your benefit but for our own. We pray knowing that you already know what we are going to pray for. We know that your Spirit guides our prayers so we learn to pray in line with your will.
But prayer gives you an opportunity to intervene on our behalf. Repeated prayers are really for our own benefit. To keep your will at the forefront of our thoughts. To practice walking in faith and to keep our spiritual zeal. I know because as I pray to you LORD the words pour out and I find myself becoming more stirred in spirit.
Words have power and your words have supernatural power. You said the weapons we fight with are not of this world but they have divine power to demolish strongholds. Your words LORD.
I am praying for these children in Gulu, Uganda, because my heart is filled with compassion for them. You made me this way and you wanted me to pray for them. So i know without doubt that you want to help them. That it was your plan for all your girls to pray in unity for this little place so far from our homes. You connected the Skinners to Hillsong and Marion to Colour for such a time as this. To do your will today.
I love you LORD and I know your thoughts are way beyond all we can comprehend. But my part is clear and I will be faithful because I'm your daughter. And I will pray and pray for these children. The prayers on this blog and prayers during the day. Simple words 'save your children LORD. Rescue Gulu, heal Uganda'.
Or your words - no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Greater are you then he who is in this world. They can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. You will not let them be tempted beyond their ability to cope, but you will provide a way out so they can stand up under it. Your love never fails LORD. That whenever two or three gather you are right their in the midst and whatever we pray for in agreement we shall receive. We pray for your children LORD, rescue them and hide them in us, so you can be their refuge, so they will have a future.
Thank your LORD for these promises. I love you and I know you are in complete control. I will not fear bad reports but put my trust in you and wait expectantly for your will to be done. in Jesus' name, amene.

prayer - day 27
LORD
Awesome day again.
I think i have prayed for all the key areas of Gulu. So LORD, I'm trusting in you to move mountains. For your Spirit to overwhelm all those involved with your will. To be your usual irrestible self and change hearts, renew minds and set captives free.
LORD, I pray that by day 27 the children of Gulu are completely hidden in your body now and enjoying the protection and safety of you as their refuge. Let there be lots of plans for escape for those in dire situations, let them be crystal clear so the children will know without a doubt that you have come to rescue them. Let the way be clear for them LORD. And fill them with your courage to step out into the darkness holding your hand. Fill them with faith in you LORD.
Also, for the leadership team LORD and all others geniunely trying to help the situation - give them favour with the local authorities and anyone else they need in order to rescue the children and set up a refuge for them. If they have already set this up, LORD, then thank you for blessing them and please protect their grounds so no evil will go near them and it will be a refuge guarded by your angels, day and night.
As for the rebel leaders LORD and the government of Uganda. Please do something to move them to pursue peace and to find resolutions for their differences. Remove the blindness from their eyes LORD, and show them they are walking into Satans hands and destroying their country's future. LORD, they need principalities overthrown - bind up evil in that country LORD, I ask in Jesus name. Forgive them for their sins LORD and heal their land.
There is so much need for you LORD. Only you can change this whole situation. Only your love can heal the broken-hearted. They don't just need human intervention they need your Spirit to intervene. They need the healing power of my Lord and Saviour. They need the truth, the way and the life. All three they need LORD, so they can see who they really are, the truth about their situation, their lives without the illusions Satan has created. He's told them half-truths about power and position. They need the truth. Jesus is the truth.
They need the way forward LORD. Show them the way out of this future. Show them the way to you LORD. Jesus is the way.
They need life LORD. To live their lives to the full. To choose you and enjoy the future you have planned for them. Jesus is that life.
Save them Lord Jesus. Reveal yourself to them. You said in John 17 that others will know that you were sent by our Father, if we believers were united as one. We are united now Lord. All your girls from Colour are united in prayer. Show yourself.
Help Watoto to be your hands Lord. to love them as you love them. I believe in you Lord. I believe you are the son of God, my Saviour. I ask all this in your name Lord Jesus, amene.

prayer - day 26
caleb has two more new teeth! That makes it 8 teeth at 7mths 1 week. wooohooo!
LORD
Thanks for yet another awesome day with my in-laws. Caleb has been behaving really well considering he has been teething the whole time. Thanks for blessing him so, LORD.
I'm praying for Gulu, Uganda, LORD. Also, I ask that you be with all the Colour women praying at this time for this situation. That you help them to stay faithful in prayer no matter what circumstances they are facing in their own lives. Help them to stay focused as we are pass half way now. And the home straight is often the hardest. Renew all our commitment to the children of Gulu LORD. Fill us with your passion and guide our prayers so your will is done.
Since i'm talking about us girls LORD, please be with all the little girls caught in this situation. All the girls that have been traded to the leaders of this war. Please LORD, pour your mercy on to them. Help them to overcome the dire situations they are in. Provide a way out for them to escape and find geniune help. Send them to Watoto LORD, and give them the courage to make the most of any opportunities you provide for them to escape. Help them to recognise these.
Help them to make wise choices even as they have their freedom taken away. Please bless them LORD. These men that are abusing them, bind them up LORD. Or help them to see the evil they are doing, the truth about who they are. Please change them like only you can. Set them free from their sins and help them to turn to you. Give them the strength to do right by these little girls. To follow your way and not the way of this world.
Remove them from their lives LORD. Show them the angels guarding these girls and i pray that the fear of you will be greater than any other desires they have. Show them LORD the consequences of their choices. Show them that you are the God of these girls. That you love them and will not let this go unpunished. Change their hearts LORD.
These young mums LORD. They are in desperate predicaments. Rejected by everyone. Who will help them LORD? Who will rescue them. Let that verse be true for them LORD. They lift up their eyes to the hills, where does their help come from? Their help comes from you LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. You are their Saviour Lord. They are your sheep and no one can snatch them from you.
You send your angels to guard over their steps. The sun will not harm them by day nor the noon by night. You alone are able, LORD. And all things are possible with you. NO weapon formed against them shall prosper. Even though they stumble they will not fall because you uphold them with your right hand.
They can do all things through you who strengthen them. You will not let them be tempted beyond what they can cope with, but you will provide a way out for them so they can stand up under it. Thank you LORD, for your promises. Forgive them their sins LORD and heal their land. Have mercy on your children LORD. Set them free from captivity.
Be the shelter they need against this storm. You laid a table before them in the presence of their enemies, you anoint their heads with oil, their cup runneth over. Thanks for yet another awesome day with my in-laws. Caleb has been behaving really well considering he has been teething the whole time. Thanks for blessing him so, LORD.
I'm praying for Gulu, Uganda, LORD. Also, I ask that you be with all the Colour women praying at this time for this situation. That you help them to stay faithful in prayer no matter what circumstances they are facing in their own lives. Help them to stay focused as we are pass half way now. And the home straight is often the hardest. Renew all our commitment to the children of Gulu LORD. Fill us with your passion and guide our prayers so your will is done.
Since i'm talking about us girls LORD, please be with all the little girls caught in this situation. All the girls that have been traded to the leaders of this war. Please LORD, pour your mercy on to them. Help them to overcome the dire situations they are in. Provide a way out for them to escape and find geniune help. Send them to Watoto LORD, and give them the courage to make the most of any opportunities you provide for them to escape. Help them to recognise these.
Help them to make wise choices even as they have their freedom taken away. Please bless them LORD. These men that are abusing them, bind them up LORD. Or help them to see the evil they are doing, the truth about who they are. Please change them like only you can. Set them free from their sins and help them to turn to you. Give them the strength to do right by these little girls. To follow your way and not the way of this world.
Remove them from their lives LORD. Show them the angels guarding these girls and i pray that the fear of you will be greater than any other desires they have. Show them LORD the consequences of their choices. Show them that you are the God of these girls. That you love them and will not let this go unpunished. Change their hearts LORD.
These young mums LORD. They are in desperate predicaments. Rejected by everyone. Who will help them LORD? Who will rescue them. Let that verse be true for them LORD. They lift up their eyes to the hills, where does their help come from? Their help comes from you LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. You are their Saviour Lord. They are your sheep and no one can snatch them from you.
You send your angels to guard over their steps. The sun will not harm them by day nor the noon by night. You alone are able, LORD. And all things are possible with you. NO weapon formed against them shall prosper. Even though they stumble they will not fall because you uphold them with your right hand.
They can do all things through you who strengthen them. You will not let them be tempted beyond what they can cope with, but you will provide a way out for them so they can stand up under it. Thank you LORD, for your promises. Forgive them their sins LORD and heal their land. Have mercy on your children LORD. Set them free from captivity.
Be the shelter they need against this storm. You laid a table before them in the presence of their enemies, you anoint their heads with oil, their cup runneth over. prayer - day 25
LORD
our internet crashed today so wasn't sure if i'd be able to blog a prayer, but thankfully it's up and running again.
please be with the leadership team in Gulu LORD. Help them to make lots of progress and to overcome any obstacles in their way. I hope by now they have secured land and are working on the facilities needed for the children under their care. That they will be able to meet their needs and build a safe environment for them. Somewhere they can grow, learn and enjoy their new lives.
Please help them to find favour with the local authorities, to make key partnerships with those in power so they will be able to achieve your will. I bind up any opposition to their efforts to do your work, in your name Lord Jesus.
Help them to make wise decisions and to plan wisely and work united as one with you as their guide. Help them to hear clearly from your Holy Spirit so they follow your plans. Let you word be a lamp unto their feet and a light unto their path. Thank you LORD for filling them with your passion to rescue these children, to do all they can to give them a future.
Please be with the Skinners and protect the work of their hands. Keep evil away from them LORD so nothing will deter them from fulfiling your will. Pave a way for them please LORD and help them to walk in it.
You are our God, and we know that you will send out your word and it will achieve it's purpose. It will not return to your empty. Your word LORD which is sharper than a two edged sword. Thank you LORD that we can put our trust in you. That your plans are greater than our plans.

prayer - day 24
LORD
I learnt an important lesson last nite. I can't party like i use to :-) Perhaps it's because I'm not use to alcohol anymore, having only had it 3 times in the last 2 years! I was extremely sick afterwards. Now I know never again. But it was great to have a laugh with zella, and call on lipo and claire. It's been a while since I've laughed so much.
Thanks for our mums LORD. Daughters and Mums, want a bond, whether we like it or not.
I think the best relationship that would describe ours would be Father and daughter. But you are also my best friend who i tell anything to because you already know everything about me - all the good and all the stupid.
LORD, one of the things i love about you the most is that you are relevant to my every day life. I need to exercise, I say to you I need something fun, like dancing. I love volleyball and had fun doing kick boxing aerobics. I asked you for help because it's such a weakness of mine. Knowing that when I am weak I am strong because your grace is sufficient for me.
I thought I should look up the community college and see if they have classes. The next day we had the catalogue in the mail. Praise you LORD. You know how useless I am at exercising so you made sure I would follow through.
Now I am going to start belly-dancing. It kind of jumped out at me, need to work on that core area of mine. It's going to be a laugh. I know nothing about belly-dancing.
I said to Myles we should buy a punching bag. So we went to look and they were so expensive becos we would have to buy the stand. So we went away to think about it. I wanted to pop into another shop having a sale on sports shoes. And what do we find - something that meets our need without a stand, and half the price. Thanks LORD!
When I include you in my day, you include me in yours! It's true that verse. Draw near to you and you will draw near to me. Thank you for my life Lord, for always trying to guide me, and never giving up on me. You are my God and there is no other.
LORD, I pray that one day the children of Gulu will know what it's like to have you be a part of their daily lives. To talk to you about what they need and have you answer them, find ways to help them even when they are weak. When I was at University, I would go out at night and miss the last train. He always wanted me to ring him no matter how late to pick me up. love you, thanks for letting me be me! Thanks for beautiful family like claire and lipo. zella and i had a awesome nite. But you know that already.
just made my deadline. Plse remember your children in Gulu, Uganda. They need you more than me. They are are more desperate than me. They need someone to rescue like me. I have claire and lipo. They have only you! But you are their Creator, their Maker and they need only you.
Rescue them plse LORD. Show them your face. Show them that you love them beyond their understanding. Beyond anything they have experienced. You are my God, and i love you so much beyond by own understanding. How much they need you.
Remember your children. I can't help celebrating your life. Probably becos I have had a great nite with my cousin, zee. LORD, if only people knew that you love them no matter what, no matter how they behave. Becos once we decide your are lord of our lives, that we accept your forgiveness, that we love you, all our lives belong to you. The good and the bad. All belongs to you.

what a day!
i really shouldn't try to comment on other blogs this late at night. Honestly it was just too hard thanks to myles and my profiles being merged. I should have read her blog during the day but I was blown away by finding we had so much in common that I had to leave a message.

Had such a busy day today, I mean yesterday. Myles' mum arrives tomorrow, I mean today :-) She is lovely. I am one of these very blessed people with lovely in-laws. But with all the bad weather I had tons of washing and our weekend was so full again.
Tomorrow my niece and sister-law are visiting early morning and then I will finish sorting out the house and setting up my brother's room for myles' family. As busy as I am cleaning, etc, I am enjoying it because I want my Mother-in-law to feel comfortable and at home with us.
I am so sick of my cooking that I got all my cookbooks out to look for some new recipes and then went shopping for the many ingredients. My cupboards are overflowing...My man just hopes I get around to using it all :-)
Plus tomorrow night, I mean tonight, I am meeting two cousins of mine for a girlie catchup. We are having dinner and a few drinks at some bar none of us have ever eaten in. Should be fun.

LORD
i have had such a busy day only now had a chance to sit and pray to you. Good thing i talk to you all day.
I pray today lots of awesome things happened in Gulu, Uganda, because of your Spirit changing the future. Thank you LORD that your will is being done as I speak. I don't know how you do it LORD but you make the hard seem easy. I have seen you change hearts that were once hardened in the blink of an eye. You remind people how to love and you fill them with compassion for each other. So what seemed like insurmountable differences to us are reconciled with ease.
I know personally this is possible with you LORD. So I believe hearts are being changed. That differences are disintegrating as government and rebel leaders reconcile. That villagers hurt by all the child soldiers are seeing them with your eyes. They are victims too of adults manipulating their innocence for their own good.
LORD surround your children with your angels to guard their steps so that no harm will come near them. That these men will abandon their evil plans as they see your Spirit moving in force.
Help your girls LORD who are being abused by these men. Help them LORD to escape their clutches, to find the Watoto workers or anyone who would geniunely help them. Show them the way LORD, make it so clear to them like the light your are so they will not hesitate.
Help them LORD! They are helpless without you. They need you desperately LORD. Please find a way to save them all, to rescue them. They need to know that you love them. That your promises are true for people like me who live privileged lives and for them. That your plans are not to harm them but to prosper them, to give them a hope and a future.
Fill them with your Holy Spirit LORD, so they can turn to you and seek you earnestly. So you can intervene on their behalf. Rescue your girls LORD. Set them free from Satan's evil plans. Give them back their childhood, shower them with your unfailing love LORD. Rescue your girls LORD.
I know you are more than able, my LORD and Creator. You who made every wonderous thing, who breathed life into our mothers wombs so we might live. You who gave me my 7 mth son, to you I cry out SAVE YOUR CHILDREN. And I wait eagerly to see you at work, knowing you never fail your people, you never fail me.
Every blessing you pour out I'll turn back to praise!!

ros
today was ros' funeral. it was lovely and so many people turned up. It's weird but i probably knew Ros less than most people there, yet I loved and respected her. She had that kind of impact because she was like a rock.
What i loved about Ros was the thing that annoyed a lot of people. She was very strong willed and opinionated. I remember when i found out she was moving to Riverside I was so pleased but not everyone was that pleased. And I didn't understand. But I got to see the side they dreaded later on. She knew what she thought was right and pursued it. I loved it. I love people who stand up for what they believe in even if no one is standing next to them. Even when I disagree with them.
She gave us another desperately needed view point to bounce off. She was a traditional christian in a lot of ways and yet she chose to come with us to start a completely different kind of church. She stepped out of the boat in faith.
In the short time i knew her she was no longer interested in the boat! She did new adventurous things which required her to trust the LORD more and more. She planted a seed in Ireland for beach missions - she had no real funds. But the LORD provided. I think when she started this quest for Ireland the attacks on her stepped up a level.
So many things happened to her and her family. Then the cancer. I only saw her once in her home and it upset me at the time. She looked so frail in body but she was strong in spirit. It kept reminding me of my Dad.
I believed the LORD gave me lots of messages that my Dad would live, not just from me but from other mature christians. But I didn't have that about Ros. It seemed like the LORD was calling her home, but i prayed for her spirit to stay strong in her final test. She met more of her grandchildren before she died. To know that the next generation of her family was blossoming. She was big on family.
Ros reminded me of Dad in one important way. She was a rock. So was my Dad. You always think they will be there. His last test was her last test - would they keep leaning on the LORD if they couldn't lean on their own strength anymore? He asks us to surrender all in return he will carry it all for us. In the end I believe my Dad wanted to go home. He had enough and he was ready.
I don't know about Ros, when i saw her in the hospital she seemed to be preparing for the end. Then i saw her at her home and her spirit was still going strong. She was definitely leaning on the LORD and trusting him.
If I know the little I do about Ros, she will have a full calendar already of the many places to visit and jobs to do in heaven...and thinking about how she can organise things better, either that or visiting all her family from the many generations before her.

Please rescue your children today so they might know what it is to be spoilt by you. To know what it's like for you to be relevant in our every day lives. Big things and small things. I seem to enjoy the small things and you know it and bless me with these every day.
LORD, i can't begin to understand life for these children. To be a child in an adult role - a soldier, a mother. I was going to say to have killed and watched others be killed. How will that affect them? Life long scars? No, not with you in their lives LORD.
I believe in you. I believe you can restore their innocence and take away their sins. I believe that you can forgive them and bless them like you bless me. They can have new beginnings and remember what it was to be a child protected by adults, if they even had this experience in the first place. All this only you can do LORD. No one can take away these memories, only you LORD.
They become a distant blur of someone they once knew but now barely remember. That's what you did for me LORD. Their scars are deeper but not impossible. You are more than able my LORD. how great is our God

and all will see how great, how great is our God.
LORD
all will see how great you are and that you are worthy of our praise.
our lives are in your hands and no one can snatch us from you.
even death has no sting as we will spend eternity with you, the Creator of all life and all wonder.
That you should care for us is amazing because we are so imperfect, so terribly flawed and yet we are precious to you. So precious you sent your son to die for us. His sole purpose was to do your will and fulfil your eternal plans. Thank you LORD for loving us like no other.
The love i feel for my son is nothing compared to the love you have for him.
You are love LORD. Not the soppy self-centred kind of love that this world knows. We have only a small understanding of real love.
Not in all my life would i sacrifice my one and only child for a world that does not know you, does not want to know you, even hate you. But that's what you did. When Jesus was born you knew one day he would suffer and die a horrific death. He died for the Apostle Paul who hated him and persecuted other believers with zeal. But you still saved him. Chose him to spread your word throughout the Roman Empire. To gentiles so that many would believe.
Millions have been saved over the many many generations including me. A girl from a tiny little Pacific Island, through her parents, and them through their parents. The power of your love, LORD!
And today your work is still being done, your plans still being fulfilled. Because 1,000 years is like a day to you. So maybe 40 days of your time this world will end and the final chapter fulfilled. Who knows.
All i know is that we must equip the next generation to love more than the last, to serve more than the last because your plans are eternal and until that final day, we your body must continue to leave your legacy of love. So the world will know you sent Jesus, their Saviour to bring them home.
This next generation in Uganda needs you LORD. They need supernatural help to overcome the principalities taking hold of their country. LORD, work your wonder, save your people, fill them with your unfailing everlasting love, give them a heart to serve, and fill them with passion to fulfil your will and do your work.
Show them their future in you LORD. Forgive them their sins, have mercy on your children and heal their land. As far as the east is from the west so far will you remove their sins from them. Your mercy is new every morning to them. They are new creations in Christ, the old has gone and the new has come. They will know what it means to be children of the most High God. They will know such love that they will forget the awful past and look forward to their future.
Thank you LORD that these things are being fulfilled right now in the lives of these children. That all things are possible with you. Jesus, in your saving name i pray amene

That you should care for us is amazing because we are so imperfect, so terribly flawed and yet we are precious to you. So precious you sent your son to die for us. His sole purpose was to do your will and fulfil your eternal plans. Thank you LORD for loving us like no other.

prayer - day 19
LORD
Thanks for today. We celebrated Caleb's 7 mths. He's so much a part of us that I can't believe it's only been 7 mths.
What happened to the children of Gulu today, LORD? Did you set some free from captivity? Did you heal broken hearts and restore their innoncence? I'm expecting so many good things to happen because you are intervening on our behalf.
Through our prayers we believe in faith that you are working to heal their land and bring good out of all this evil that Satan has done. My man and i were talking about prayers how we still pray even if we don't get the answers we wanted. He wanted to know why?
And I said to him because by praying we are telling your our hearts desires - which you gave us when you made us. We do it to put our faith into action. You already know what we're going to ask you, but we have free will to ask. By asking we let your Spirit work in our lives to achieve your will.
Then we put our trust in you because you know the bigger picture of which we are just a minute part of. You know better than us. You are our Creator and you have a master plan to save all your children in each generation, until that last day when your son returns and turns this world upside down.
We were talking about the child we lost. I prayed you would perform a miracle and save my baby but it didn't happen. They said that i would lose my only good ovary too and I wouldn't be able to have anymore children. You took my child to be with you and saved my ovary.
I knew of him for one day and then he was gone. I say he but I have no idea what sex my baby was. Only you know. I lost a child but now I have Caleb. I don't know why you did it that way. But I trust you, I stand on your Word which says not to lean on my own understanding but in all my ways to trust you and you will make my paths straight. I have Caleb, how can I be sad. My other child is keeping my Dad company, how can I be sad?
You brought some good out of the sacrifice of my child and I thank you so much for that LORD. You put the words of that song in my head as i cried to you last night 'blessed be the name of the LORD'.
So over these children LORD, this country I sing the words of this song and I remember that you are in complete control.
Every blessing you pour out I'll turn back to praise
when the darkness closes in LORD still I will say:

prayer - day 18
LORD
I pray today progess is being made in the talks between the government and rebel leaders. That they are finding solutions and resovling their differences. Fill each side with a desire to pursue peace, Lord Jesus. To end Satan's plans for destruction and restore hope and a future to their land.
Please remove the scales from their eyes LORD so they can see and hear the truth and know you true will for their country. So they will be saved and can start rebuilding lives. Please set them free from Satan's grip Lord Jesus. Show them the truth. Fill them with your spirit so today they will make progress and step closer to your will.
If there are any real believers in their midst then please give them the strength to do what is right. Fill them with your courage LORD and let them know that you will never leave them nor forsake them. That the tempation they face is common to man and you will not let them be tested beyond what they can cope with, but you will always provide a way out. Help them to see the way out Lord Jesus.
Greater are you who live in us then he who lives in this world. No weapon formed against us shall prosper, in your name Lord Jesus. Which is above all names.
You said we will overcome by your blood which you sacrificed for us, so we would have a new covenant bought and paid for by your life. So we would be marked by your blood like the first born of Israel and no harm will befall us. But we will only watch the punishment of the wicked. By your blood and our testimony we will overcome.
Our testimony is that you are the Son of God. The Christ sent to redeem our broken sinful lives so that we may go boldly to the thrown and enter the holy of holies without fear. You are my Saviour who was crucified and rose three days later to set us free from death and give us eternal life. So we can meet our Maker and know his love first hand. You, Lord Jesus are worthy of all praise and all honour. For you did what we could not do ourselves.
God's master plan to wrap himself in humanity. A vulnerable child like my 7 mth baby, like the children in Gulu. Dependant on the grownups around him to protect and love him. You know what it's like to be so vulnerable LORD. Your son went through it and lived. I pray that the same will be truth of the children of Gulu. That even though they are carrying horrendous crosses now that they will know the victory of a resurrected Lord and Saviour.
That they will know that you are on their side and you hear their cries and feel their pain. That you will rescue them because you are more than able Lord Jesus. In your name I pray amene

LORD
what's happening over there? I pray there is lots of progress being made today. That children are being set free as i speak. That your will is being done by the leadership team Watoto has sent in to Gulu. That other Christians are rallying to the cause and doing all they can to help these children.
I pray if there is anyone willing to geniunely help these children right now then please fill them with your courage and give them the strength and wisdom they need to step forward and help.
Bless their steps and show them how to make it happen.
LORD, I picture these children and i know how easy it is to be influenced by grown-ups. To not know yet right or wrong but to believe what others tell you. To not be old enough to say 'NO' to situations that you know somewhere in the back of your mind is totally wrong. The adults in your life have told you lies and supported all the wrong destructive things you are doing.
They lack your strength and knowledge Lord. They don't know how to say NO. Please LORD like you showed me the way, show them. Show them your unfailing love and how much you have forgiven them. prayer - day 16
i've noticed how long my prayers are getting. So i've decided to pray a few short ones since i think the LORD has heard me go on and on now. I just get so passionate about the children that it just pours. let's try short!
LORD
You know our hearts' desires to rescue the children of Gulu and heal their land. Satan has been working overtime in Uganda. He is trying to steal, kill and destroy their future. But you LORD, you are restoring this future to them. Filling the children with hope, restoring their innocence so they can once again be full of promise.
Thank you LORD, that your plans are to prosper them and not to harm them, but to give them a hope and a future. Thank you LORD that you are more than able to do the impossible. That greater are you who live in us then he who is in the world.
Thank you for helping Watoto to achieve your purpose. To provide a refuge from the storm for these children and young mothers who have abused and rejected. As they go about their work today Lord in bringing your cause closer to fulfilment that they will find favour with the local authorities and support from international organisations in power. That you are with them right now as they make wise choices about the facilities and the children they need to help.
If the government and rebel leaders are meeting today, then please go before them and prepare the way for resolutions and peace. Renew the strength of your believers and let them fly like eagles today LORD. Give them courage and compassion as they work together to end this nightmare.

LORD
please continue to bless your children in Gulu. Thank you for all that you are doing to rescue them from Satan's evil plans. Let there be more progress in the facilities watoto is trying to create. If there are any people or circumstances still standing in their way then i pray move them away LORD. Show your people the way to overcome. Help the leaders to make wise choices and hear your spirit guiding them. Thank you LORD.
Your children LORD who are still surrounded by Satan's workers please protect them. Set them free from their situations. Help them to find ways out. Lead them to safety Lord Jesus. Help your body find them. Or anyone who would genuinely help them. Show them your plans Lord so they will be filled with hope for their future.
Save them from evil Lord Jesus. Send your angels to guard over them so these men will know what it is to fear the LORD. So they run from them. Fill your children with your spirit LORD, so they will see the truth about what's happening to them, so they will know you are on their side and you will save them.
Please help the government of Uganda negotiate with the rebel leaders. Help them to find some common ground and resolve this situation. If there are any believers amongst them LORD then please fill them with your spirit and give them the courage to pursue peace. Remove the barriers that separate these groups please LORD. Help them to see that they must unite and stop destroying the future of Uganda - the children.
Help them to stop being selfish and bent on their own agendas. Fill them with wisdom LORD. Help them to see the truth. That Satan is trying to steal kill and destroy. But you LORD want to heal their land and give them a prosperous future full of hope.
Forgive them for their sins LORD. Forgive the children for any of their crimes. Renew their minds and help them to turn to you. Help them to find you like we found you. Help them to know that nothing they have done can separate them from you because you love them. Your love is unfailing and eternal.
Help the villagers to forgive them. fill them with your mercy LORD and give them hearts of compassion so they will do right by these children. So they will help them.
Thank you LORD for your mercy which is new every morning. Thank you for your unfailing love and that your plans are greater than ours. Thank you that your Word goes out and achieves your purpose. Thank you that your Word is sharper than a two edged sword. Thank you that you are working miracles right now in the lives of these children. Thank you that you are overcoming principalities to set your children free.
Your faithfulness is amazing LORD. You are our refuge and in you we are strong even if we are weak. Thank you for your spirit who is moving amongst your people right now LORD. In your name i pray, Lord Jesus. amene

prayer - day 14
had baby's check up today. All is well except i have to increase his solids a lot more now. I read in my baby bible to try each new solid for a week to see if he has an allergic reaction but the clinic nurse said it's fine to increase it more. So he has a fun week of food to look forward to!
LORD
as i learn how to take care of my son every day I am reminded of how you take care of us. Are you doing more and more each day to help your children in Gulu? Are you finding new ways of rescuing each one of them from the situations they are stuck in? Are you helping your body to set up their refuge so these children will have somewhere safe to escape to?
There is so much that can be happening right now, in the natural and in the spiritual that I have no idea about. But I pray in faith that these things are happening right now. That you are removing strongholds, healing broken hearts and restoring innocence. That your plans are even greater than my small mind can fathom, that in the spiritual, you have taken captive principalities and overthrown their plans.
Thank you LORD. That all we need do is ask. That prayer is our first resort and not our last. That we can do all things through you who strengthen us. That greater are you who lives in us than he who is in this world. What seems impossible to us is more than possible with you!
I can't wait to hear of all the good that will come out of this. Of all the progress you have made in saving your children. Of lots of good reports from Watoto.

Eulogy for Ros: died 07/07/07
My father in law died of cancer. At the time I was not a Christian - so I just thought: 'this happens - people die of cancer'. He suffered and kept his faith strong. My wife asked "Why him Lord?". I noted all this in my rational intellectual mind - but did not really understand it.
Pope John Paul II had a long illness. He suffered. He knew that God allowed this to happen to him for a reason.
Ros suffered. I only knew her for the last years of her life. On reflection though, she was a defining person in my faith. I did not share decades of marriage with her like her husband Phil. She did not nurture me from nappies to marriage like her kids. But she had faith during her suffering.
She showed me why God allows suffering. It built her own character, but it also allowed her to show others the rest, hope and love we can have in God.
God cared about Ros' suffering. Ros is now with God sharing an eternity of unconditional love. Not the love that Phil showed here - as special as that is. An unconditional love that was tested in her suffering.
God is love. God is true love. God is true unconditional love. He showed us that through Jesus' suffering. And through the suffering of his faithful servant Ros. Ros knew this. She knew what her reward would be. She was a good and faithful servant. It means nothing me saying this. But Ros' heart will explode when God tells her!

Pope John Paul II had a long illness. He suffered. He knew that God allowed this to happen to him for a reason.

prayer - day 13
LORD
help me to pray. Fill me with your Spirit and your words which move mountains and overcome strongholds. Show me how to pray like you Lord Jesus. In the will of your Father.
I love you LORD and I know i live a privileged life. Thank you that your patience is never ending with me. That you've never given up on me.
Thank you for this awesome day which belongs to you. Thank you for renewing my mind about life and death.
I lift up your children to you in Gulu. They are in the front line. Satan is working hard to steal kill and destroy them, but you came that they may have life, to the full. To enjoy their life, the future that you planned for them before they were even born. Fulfil your promises to them please LORD. Rescue your children from situations beyond their control. Restore their innocence LORD so they might enjoy their childhood.
Lift the blindness which covers those that could help them. Help them to see these children as you see them and not as Satan sees them. Not tools for their pleasure and plans, but full of promise and hope - future leaders of Uganda who need to be protected and loved.
You are their God and without you LORD they are lost. They need you desperately to act on their behalf. To send your angels to guard over their daily lives. To fill them with your Holy Spirit so they will be able to choose right over wrong, good over evil. Give them your courage LORD and fill them with your hope. Provide ways for them to escape their circumstances and guide their steps, Lord Jesus.
You love children Lord. You wanted us to be like them. You said woe to any who would lead them astray. These men are doing this Lord Jesus. Please intervene on their behalf. Guide your body as they do your work. Help the church leadership team make wise choices and be discerning about the situations they find themselves in and the people they have to deal with.
LORD fill our prayers with passion, strengthen all the women that are praying now to keep praying for the 40 days. And remove any confusion they might have about this task, in your name Lord Jesus.
Thank you LORD that you come for our words. That you said no weapon formed against us shall prosper. That you will never leave us nor forsake us. That the battle belongs to you. That we will stand because you are more than able to make us stand. That even if we stumble we will not fall for you will hold us in your hand. That your angels will guard over our ways so we will not strike our feet against the stones. That the sun will not harm us by day nor the moon by night. That we wont fear the terror of the night nor the arrow that flies by day because you are our refuge.
That your word is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. Your word LORD which accomplishes your purpose and does not return to you empty. Your word LORD which we now speak to cover these children. They belong to you LORD. You will not give up and will leave 99 to save 1 lost sheep, Lord.
Save your children now Lord. Take them out of these situations. Help them to find Watoto or those who would geniunely help them.
Change the hearts and minds of those who would harm them and please renew a right spirit within them. We put our trust in you Lord. We look forward to your answers LORD. life and death
one of our church family died of cancer tonight. She was an awesome woman of God who spent her life with the LORD, and raised a family of believers. It's made me think how fleeting life is.

this little bundle of life
just taking his first breaths.
Another life passes away.
A life with many days.
so alive.
connected to others.
last breath.
And us?
caught between
not yet ready to leave
but that energy is gone.
yet we should have more

prayer - Day 12
LORD
I pray for the Peace talks between the rebel leaders and the govt in northen Uganda. Please let you spirit move amongst them. Fill their hearts with compassion and help them to pursue peace. I don't know how you can create peace with men who have promoted such evil amongst your children. But if there is any good in these men LORD, you will find it. If there is any hope for their spirits then i pray you will move them to do good, to find a way to resolve their issues.
Give the govt LORD a passion for this area, to help the children and pursue a lasting peace. Help them to overcome their differences and unite them in one cause to heal their land and return hope to this area.
LORD, if there are any believers amongst these men. Please fill them with your Holy Spirit, so their words will be full of wisdom and they can find favour with the leaders of both parties. Give them courage to do your will and help them to make wise choices.
LORD only you know what it will take to move this mountain. Only you know what these men desire and how their circumstances can be resolved. Show them the way LORD. Remove the strongholds that bind them, in Jesus' name. Help them to see clearly and give them willing hearts to change and effect change in Gulu.
Thank you LORD. For your unfailing love for us. For your plans that are greater than ours. Thank you LORD that you are in complete control of this situation. prayer - day 11
LORD
Thank you for an awesome day yesterday. The wind was blowing up such a storm that it reminded me of your supernatural power.
Help me to pray such prayers that would move mountains LORD, that would overcome strongholds and set your children free.
My brother told me a horrific story yesterday about a 12 year old. Reminded me of how children say whatever they want in innocence but because of adults this innocence is perverted. Just like the children in Gulu. They don't know what they are doing LORD. They are following adults who rule their world.
Help them Lord Jesus, renew their minds so they can choose right from wrong. So they can remember what it means to love, to be compassionate, to be a child again. Make them new Lord, so their innocence will be restored. You have done this for me and my man LORD, so I know it's possible.
Give them the strength and courage to seek out those who would help them. And the wisdom they need to recognise their enemies from their friends. And LORD, please provide ways of escape for them. Put your people in the right places so they can help these children. By your name Lord Jesus, strongholds are being broken, so that your children can be rescued.
These men LORD who would do such evil bidding and use your name are blaspheming. Convict their spirits LORD. Show them the consequences of their actions. If there are any of them, who know that they are doing wrong but lack the strength to do right - please LORD, fill them with your spirit. Help them to overcome Satan's power in their lives. Set them free from their sins and renew their minds Lord Jesus. Help them to make a difference in the situations they are in. Show them how they can do this. Show them what they need to do. And give them the courage to do it. In your name Lord Jesus, I pray.
Lord, your name is above all names. You sacrificed your life to save millions. You have stood in the gap for us so that we might live and have eternal life. You have brought us back to your Father, our God. You are interceding on our behalf now and you cover us with your blood. By your blood, we have a new covenant, where we can go boldly to the throne.
Even though we are sinners ourselves, we know that our sins are forgiven and we are made new and acceptable to you. We are able to ask for anything in your name and we will receive it. We are united as your daughters asking you for the same thing to rescue your children and heal this land. Heal Uganda.
Lord Jesus, on the night you were arrested you prayed for us. And your prayer was that we would be united so that this world would know that you lived that you were sent by your Father. Would know you. Lord, we are united in prayer now. One voice asking for your help in unity. Show these men in Gulu that you live Lord. Show them that you are God's son and that you will not stand for all this evil against your children. Show them who you are, Lord Jesus and overcome their evil.
Help Watoto Lord to do your work. To set up your refuge for these children and young mothers. Protect them Lord and their efforts. Protect their property so no evil will enter their doors. Mark their buildings with your blood Lord Jesus, like the Israelites did in Egypt with the lamb they sacrificed, so they were kept safe.
Thank you Lord. For your promises in your word. Thank you that even though we are not there we can pray for your Spirit to move in Uganda. Thank you Lord, that as we stand united in the gap for the children of Gulu, your will is being done. As a mother, I just want to cover these children with your body, to hide them in us, until the evil is destroyed and peace restored. watoto fundraising
we have almost raised half a house! How cool is that! I can't wait to achieve this goal and finally provide a home for 8 orphans and a widow house mother.
Watoto is doing such awesome work in Uganda that I just want to support all the other projects they have. But i know that would not be 'being faithful with what's in my hands' so I will finish one project before starting another.
Now if only i could go there and physically help out! One day!
prayer
LORD
thank you for an awesome day yesterday. For the time i had with my son. Running around like crazy doing chores in between times with him. He's learning so much now yet he's only 6, almost 7 mths old. It took him a couple of days to master the art of flipping over from his back to his front and back again. Now he can't lie down without automatically flipping over. Next step will be crawling.
Having him in my life is like a constant reminder of other children, the lives they must lead. So many children don't have even a little of what he has. So many children born into this world unloved, grow up to be unloved and angry adults if they survive at all. Children die every minute of the day from poverty. So that must mean the gates of heaven are permanently open to a river of little kids, babies coming home to be with you.
Charities here think they take in so many kids, but you take in more every minute of the day. Does it break your heart LORD to see your creations abused so at such young ages when they are meant to be cared for and nurtured? Your plan is what Caleb is living now with two loving parents who want to love and protect him for as long as he needs them. That's us.
You made family to be this wonderful support network from day 1 in a child's life. But because of sin this like everything else is broken. Families hurt each other, marriages break up, kids are abused. Poverty takes their lives, corruption and evil steal their futures, like the leaders of Gulu's child soldiers.
I never want anything bad to happen to Caleb. I am one mother. What about all the other mothers out there? Surely LORD they have the right to the same favour that i have. Please have mercy on them LORD. Have mercy on the children of Gulu. Help break down the strongholds Satan is trying to set up. Let you favour rain down on them. Give them back their futures.
Lord Jesus, work your wonderous healing power over these children and their families. Mend their broken relationships and help them to forgive each other. Restore the innocence of these children Lord, and bring them into your inner circle, like those children long ago whom the disciples tried to shoo away. Make them a priority for you, like you did that day, and intercede on their behalf Lord.
Your word is full of references to orphans and widows. How these are people who need protection and care. It's because the people that were meant to stand beside them and protect them have been taken away. Help Watoto fill this need LORD. It's a priority for you in your Word, let it be so in Gulu now LORD. Or my impossible prayer LORD, let it be so for all children in the world, I pray.
LORD, take your children under you wings and be their refuge like it says in Psalm 91. Protect them from evil, and save them please LORD. Do whatever it takes to move these mountains LORD. I believe it's more than possible. I believe you are doing it now as I speak this prayer. Lives are being changed, children saved, strongholds broken, relationships healed, innocence restored. Thank you LORD.

LORD
thank you for this day that you have made. we will be glad and rejoice in it. For this day belongs to you. You said that you sent your word out and it will not return to you void but accomplish what you desire and achieve the purpose for which you sent it.
I know it's your desire for your children to be set free. I look forward to you purpose being achieved in Gulu LORD. All the good that you will bring out of this.
I lift up the children to you LORD. I know you have heard all my prayers and the prayers of other women for the children of Gulu. I know you are doing the impossible. What is impossible to us is possible with you. I have seen you do this in my own life. You have worked in situations to heal emotional wounds so that relationships are restored and broken lives redeemed. I know it's possible with you LORD.
I know the great wonders you can do in these children's lives. I know they are still full of your promise. Still have years ahead of them full of hope and amazing blessings which will heal all the damage these men have done.

prayer
thank you LORD for your faithfulness. Thank you that we can ask you for anything, even the impossible, and know that you are actually expecting us to ask you for these things. Becos you know us inside out. You know our hearts desires. Thank you LORD for loving us so much that your provision is more than enough for us. That you want to bless us and help us through our troubles.
Watching caleb's determination makes me more determined not to give up in our fight against Satan for the children of Gulu. I know you have already paved the way for their future LORD. I know that you already have plans for their rescue. And i thank you LORD that you are already changing their lives for the better.
I thank you for providing the way for Watoto to be your hands in this situation and for all the other christian groups acting on your behalf. For anyone LORD who is willing to help them. For you said whoever is not against us is for us.
Thank you that you are doing more than we even expected or imagined in their circumstances LORD.
I believe that you have heard our prayers and are answering them beyond our dreams. I am believing for the impossible LORD. I am believing for walk on water solutions because that's who you are.
You are always faithful and you never change. You are our Creator and our Father. You are Jehovah Jirah our great provider. Thank you LORD for your unfailing love. Thank you for removing our sins as far as the east is from the west. Thank you that your mercies are new every morning. Thank you that when you save us we are like a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come. Our innocence is restored and we can start again. Watching caleb's determination makes me more determined not to give up in our fight against Satan for the children of Gulu. I know you have already paved the way for their future LORD. I know that you already have plans for their rescue. And i thank you LORD that you are already changing their lives for the better.
I thank you for providing the way for Watoto to be your hands in this situation and for all the other christian groups acting on your behalf. For anyone LORD who is willing to help them. For you said whoever is not against us is for us.
Thank you that you are doing more than we even expected or imagined in their circumstances LORD.
I believe that you have heard our prayers and are answering them beyond our dreams. I am believing for the impossible LORD. I am believing for walk on water solutions because that's who you are.
You are always faithful and you never change. You are our Creator and our Father. You are Jehovah Jirah our great provider. Thank you LORD for your unfailing love. determination
watching caleb has made me realise that the LORD makes babies full of beans! Once caleb sees something he wants he becomes very one minded and will do anything to hold it in his hands. He has this mosquito net around his cot and he stretches out his arms as far as possible, pass the bars on his cot, to reach for it. Now he's learning how to roll over from back to tummy, he's flipping his body over so he can get even closer.
It's amazing. Even though he's struggling to get close he never gives up. He hasn't quite learnt how to pull his arm from underneath him once he's flipped over so he ends up rolling back on to his back. Then he tries again. and again. and again. He's so cute. You can hear his breathing as he struggles to turn over. And even if he's exhausted he will rest for a few seconds and then start again! Even frustration doesn't stop him. He just refuses to give up, unless he can't keep his eyes open.
His determination to achieve his goal is amazing. Babies have to learn so much that it's no wonder the LORD made them so determined at this age. Reaching out for things will help him to crawl, walk and run. He wants to explore everything.
I let him try to reach out for things just beyond his arms' length, even if he's getting frustrated at trying. He's learning so much in his efforts that I don't want to rob him of his victory by just getting it for him. Unless he's hurting himself.
I wonder where all that determination goes to? Things become so much easier for us that we don't seem to have that drive when we're older. Or do we as parents knock it out of kids by not letting them touch things and explore their world? It's about balance, yet again!

prayer
LORD
the problems of Northern Uganda seem overwhelming. But you saved us through your son Jesus. What seemed overwhelming has survived generations of Satans attacks. We still believe.
I believe in your LORD. I believe you know our first days and our last. I believe you created each one of us to be unique and amazing. You have given us free will so we can choose you of our own accord. These children don't have that choice LORD. Their free will is being robbed by men stronger than them.
You said Lord Jesus, woe to anyone who would lead one of your children astray. These are your lost sheep Lord. Let them hear your voice. Let them follow you to the safety of your pen. Behind the protection of your blood sacrificed for each of us. To save us from Satan.
Lord Jesus, bind up these men who are abusing your children. Bind up their wicked plans so that it will lead to their destruction and these children can be set free.
Please help Watoto and all the people trying to build a safe environment for these children and young mothers to take back their destinies. Help them to find favour with people in power in Gulu so they can build their facilities and rescue as many children as possible.
Guide their choices LORD and please go before then to pave a way for your will to be done. Give them your courage and strength Lord to overcome any obstacles Satan throws in their way. In your name Lord Jesus.
Let your Holy Spirit reign in this area LORD. Swooping down like an eagle to pluck out evil and protect your young. Give these children strength and faith LORD to walk out and escape these situations whenever they can. Set them free LORD from the mindset that Satan is trying to blind them with. Set them free LORD!
Who is Satan compared to you Lord Jesus? We are more than conquerers through you who strengthen us LORD. Hear our prayers, surround your children with your words that you have put in our mouths, so that they will be fully equiped with your armour LORD. Help them see the truth, to discern between right and wrong, and provide a way out for them to escape all this evil.
Forgive them for their sins LORD. Redeem their futures and save them I pray. In your name which is above all names Lord Jesus. We love you and we put our faith in you.

prayer
LORD
thank you for rescuing your children. Thank you that you answer our prayers and you are in complete control. Thank you for providing the way for their salvation and protection.
Lord Jesus, you sent out your body out to do your work to believe in faith, to extinguish the arrows of Satan. We are believing now Lord specifically for the children in uganda who are living a life of turmoil because of the destructive choices men are making on their behalf.
Break through the barriers Satan has set up Lord Jesus. Free your children from this slavery. Bind up these strongholds in your name Lord Jesus. no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Tho they stumble they will not fall for you will uphold them in your hands. even tho they walk thru the valley of the shadow of death they shall fear no evil. for you are with them. your rod and staff will protect them.
you prepare a table before them in the presence of their enemies. you anoint their heads with oil. their cup overflows. surely goodness and mercy shall follow them all the days of their lives. and they will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
We believe in you Lord Jesus. We believe you are the son of God. We believe you died and rose again. We believe you came for us all. We believe you're here now, standing in our midst. Hear with the power to heal now and the grace to forgive.
You said Lord that we will overcome by your blood and our testimony. And that is our testimony. You are the way the truth and the life. We put our trust in you Lord Jesus. in your name i pray, amene.
