UPDATE: Just thought I would say what this song means to me (Myles). I was in my late 30's when I got saved. I was in a situation where I had no where else to go. My life of self-control had fallen down around me. So I fell to my knees to worship. I called. And he came to my rescue. He rescued me from a life of loss. So after a couple of false starts I now place my life in his hands. It's the best move I ever made. And so you can see how this song reflects my own relationship with Jesus. Give him your whole life...even the small bits...but especially the big bits - your relationships, your time, your gifts.

Here lately I've been really down. And well... My relationship with God isn't the same at all. I love Him with all that I have and everything... I really don't know what happened though. Anyways, I really miss the intimate relationship I once had. But I was on line and I was just looking at some sites of old friends, and well this song was on there. I started crying. I'm so thankful I heard it! I want to be back with God, worshiping, reading my Bible like I used to. Just alot of times I talk to God and feel like I don't get an answer but the whole time He's there, loving me. Yeah, He came to my rescue!!! So, I gave up, let go, and let God. My "aha!" moment came w/the song from Michael W. Smith, "I Know Your Name" but one day, actually searching through MySpace music, I came across this song and when I had my page up on MS, this *Came to the Rescue* was the song on display for the most part. I had a few others but I heard this song and cried because it was so true to my life and where I'd been and where I'm going.

Hi, I've been a Christian for 3 years now, and not many songs bring me to my knees in tears. This one does, everytime I hear it. Even if playing it for the middle school youth group I play guitar for, I always go on my knees for the last verse.
mu churuch is only 20 years old and so we don't know many songs and have never had any retreats or lock-ins before. i went to my friend's church's retreat and we sang this song everyday and i felt like i was actually forgiven and rescued by just one God. I'm very thankful that i have him in my life and for these song lyrics! time to show it to my church! ^^
I absolutely LOVE this song! I just heard it yesterday and it is so absolutely true. God did come to my rescue and I love him and praise him SO much for sending his son to die for my sins, in spite of how filthy and unworthy I am.
ok so i love this song it refects how my life used to be... i used to drink party and smoke and i was really depressed i finally went to thisawesome place called the basement! its in brmingham alabama! its like a club for god its amazing i was saved therea and ever since ive been on fire for god! i then asked god to lead me in my path with him and he lead me into ministry which is what im doing now this whole time was in about a 6 month period! if god can change me then he can change you just talk to him no ones perfect and this song shows gods grace and forgiveness! god bless..

I was saved 4 weeks ago! And how my life has changed!! The song I was saved to brings me to tears every single time I hear it! I just heard this song for the first time about 20 minutes ago and have had it on repeat and has brought me to tears! I don't know how I was going through life without God in it!

I love this song as well. I recently came out of a very sinful relationship. I was lost and devastated, but then I called out to God and he told me that even this experience was part of his plan. He told me that he loved me still and that nothing would ever separate me from his love. It's weird how God will speak to you when you simply humble yourself and put him on the throne of your life. He never fails us. His love is the only true love that is unfailing. 1 Conrinthians 13 comes to mind when I think about the love of God. Anyone who feels that they have gone too far away from God to love them still, just know that you can never stray far enough from his reach and love. If you just humble yourself and ask him to help you he will most definitely come. Send your power Lord and show your love to your people. May we come humbly into your presence and may you speak words of truth into our lives. I pray all of these things in Jesus name. Amen.

I first heard this song at an FCA golf camp and fell in love with it. i have been wanting to know who sung it for a while now. and now i know!! i love it!
I just heard this song for the first time at my friends' church and they sang it along with another one that I couldn't remember the words to, so I did a search on this one, and I've really enjoyed reading your testimony and all the comments on it too. I've been going through a very dry place in my walk with God and entering into worship has been a battle for me, but something about these words got to me last night, and it brought me back to His throne room singing praise to Him and thanking Him for His mercy, especially at those times when I don't feel it, because nights like that one remind me that He is always there to come to my rescue regardless of my feelings. It helps me to sing words like "I want to be where You are" because it totaly refocuses my life.
i want everyone to know i am in tears as i write this. i am 17 years old, been a christian basically all my life. last night i was at my youth group, we had a worship night. we were oustide with the sun setting around us, kinda spread out so we could have some alone time with God, and we played this song. i was completely silent, it hit me so hard. then suddenly one of my friends who was in front of me, she just fell to her knees, in tears, singing. it was so amazing, and i realized that's what i wanted. so i prayed, and recommitted everything to Christ. i am just so on fire, i am in love with Jesus. this song means alot to me. thank you so much for posting it. Praise God! I was saved 9 months ago at age 39. My story is similar to yours. I was a slave to alcohol and cigarettes. I was angry most of the time and my wife and kids were really suffering because of me. Everything was about me, Man was i an enemy of God. I was at the point of suicide. I was watching a pastor on TV and I brokedown. I called out and He rescued me Praise Jesus! Im free because of Him.and my wife and kids are saved too. Now everything is about Him.
