no judgment in the streets

Christian's tend to speak a bit about 'judgment day'...when others who don't believe - or even don't believe as 'good' as they do...will be judged.

I am guilty of judging others too quick. I am hopeful that I don't judge peoples level of faith - but i judge people on first impressions, on their past actions, on what they say and do now!

My brother lives in a part of town a lot of people avoid...and a statement he said to me recently stood out: "there is no judgment on the streets". It made it sound like a great place to me!

At church once we were asked to write on a piece of paper what we were praying for Jesus to work on in our lives - I wrote something like "be less judgmental".

And today - with a member of my family - I realise I judge him all the time. Based on past actions. His comments lack integrity. Yet because I am living with a judgmental attitude I am the one being burdened down.

Jesus does not need another judgmental Christian - he needs someone who will just love. And that attitude change for me sounds easy and so light in burden!
