to blog or not to blog?

I was reading faith's blog and it reminded me of the blogging dilemma that I have. Blogging is not like your personal diary where you can write all that's on your mind, all the trials and battles you go through, or even all that the LORD is working on in your life.

It's the whole privacy thing. If you want to be able to write all this then you're better of remaining anonymous and not putting your name or family pictures, etc. because sometimes it's your family you're battling with. You have to think of their privacy.

So when you're going through something and it occupies all your head space then it's hard to blog about what's happening in your life. It's a bit like that saying...my man has used it occasionally...something about an elephant on the table and no one wants to discuss it. That's what it feels like for me. And you can't even write about the specific lessons the LORD is teaching you at the time.

So sometimes when I'm not blogging it means life has slapped me in the face and I'm working on it or recovering from it. But of course other times it's just because i'm too busy living life and too tired to write :)

Well said and a hearty Amen!!

And thank you so much for your prayers. I would love to meet you in person sometime but....isn't it neat to know we will see each other in heaven???!!

how are you doing? my sister's ob/gyn said she could have the baby any day now...they decided on the name "Madelyn Grace"...sounds good with her big sister Emma Rose.
Any luck on names for your wee one yet??

hey faith
you back already? how was the trip? I love your sister's name for her little girl. Gobbie is still nameless. My cousin had a little girl, all healthy, so that was great news. Her name is Mikayah Lei.

I might see you one day - if I visit America it will be New York City so you never know. And I love to travel...will probably have to wait till youngest is at lest 5 yrs old...but when it comes to travel, I have been known to just pack up and go. If I do, will definitely look you up.

I have found that most blogs that I browse seem to be like personal diaries, the details of what the person is doing in their home every single day, etc., and sometimes a little too personal,I think that should be kept for journaling. Blogging can be fun and you do get to meet many over the internet but nothing replaces real friendships with other Christians. I find that I'm drawn to blogs that share their spirtual journey and what they have learned from the Lord. I tend to stay away from the blogs that speak of their every day life, chores, etc., but who am I to judge maybe the person has no one to talk to and blogging is an outlet for them.

I actually like blogs that have a mixture of both. You get to know the person better through their every day lives. Blogging friends allow you to meet people from the other side of the world. And one day I hope to meet them in person.

But you're right these don't replace friendships in person. They are just different types of friendships.

I love learning lessons from others too. And what amazes me is how true the bible is...no matter where we are we are going through the same struggles...1 Peter 5:9

Thanks for visiting.
