Blessed be the name of the LORD

Blessed be Your name in the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

And blessed be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out I'll turn back to praise
And when the darkness closes in, Lord Still I will say

CHORUS:
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name when the sun's shining down on me
When the world's "all as it should be"
Blessed be Your name

And blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say Lord, blessed be Your name

CHORUS

(Matt Redman)

This is a hard song but it has been so relevant to my every day life that when i first heard it, at a Hillsong conference, I balled my eyes out. I was reminded of this song today reading about another Christian going through hard times.

It was a life lesson i learnt throught tragedy and testing...it's easy to praise the LORD when life is wonderful but when life sucks and Satan attacks it's even harder and we have to make a choice: to keep praising, trusting and putting our hope in our Saviour OR to give up. I'm not sure which is easier but I decided a long time ago that Satan can harm me physically and mentally but spiritually I can choose to believe and he can't take that away from me unless I give it up myself. He never wins because it's my spirit he's after and that's safe with the LORD for all eternity. So when the darkness closes in I can still choose to say Blessed be the name of the LORD.

This is an awesome post Tali! Thanks for sharing your heart. It touched me. And that song is one of our favorites although we don't sing it alot anymore at church. At our old church we sang it ALOT!! But we loved it!! and yeah, sometimes it is a hard song! God is merciful and faithful and I praise Him for that! His Grace is all we need!

Tali, I only have a second and I want to come back when I can properly respond, but thank you so much for your comment and most of all your prayers. I'm going to copy and paste this song so I can read through it whenever I need it!

I appreciate your thoughtfulness in taking the time to write me such a nice letter and letting me know your story. I know God is good and is bigger than any problem I will ever face! But it's not always easy, huh?

I'll be back when I can visit, but just wanted to say thank you so very much. And it is nice to meet you!
